Engaging Exchange Event with NTU Hospital CSSD

At the end of May, the SIGMA team visited National Taiwan University Hospital in Taipei for an insightful exchange with the Central Sterile Supply Department (CSSD) staff. Topics included medical sterilization packaging, usage scenarios, types of materials, and medical paper inspection.

We discussed distinguishing inner and outer bags, load density, packaging bulges after loading surgical instruments, and whether packaging specifications adequately protect products from damage.

Given the hospital’s limited testing equipment, CSSD staff are particularly concerned about the quality checks of procured medical packaging. Our team detailed SIGMA’s extensive quality testing equipment, including heat sealers, air permeability testers, tensile testing machines, aging test chambers, paper leakage testers, burst testers, high-temperature steam sterilizers, plasma sterilizers, and EO sterilizers.

The exchange with NTU Hospital’s CSSD was productive, reinforcing our commitment to high-quality, reliable sterilization packaging solutions. We look forward to more collaborations to ensure best practices in medical packaging and patient safety.
